King Bladud’s Pigs in Bath is a summer 2008 public art event to celebrate Bath, its origins and its artists and provide residents and visitors with some fun. It will see one hundred individually decorated life-size pig sculptures displayed throughout the summer all around Bath – to be auctioned off in October for the benefit of the Two Tunnels Project.

China has won a “decisive victory” in reducing water levels in an unstable lake formed by last month’s earthquake in Sichuan province, officials say. Soldiers used explosives to divert water from Lake Tangjiashan into the quake-damaged town of Beichuan.
